Upminster v Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI on Sat 01 Jun 2002 at 1-30pm
Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Won 8 Wickets

Match report The 2nd XI made it 3 wins from 4 starts with a comprehensive defeat of newly promoted Upminster. Asked to bat Upminster got off to a reasonable start adding 30 odd for the first wicket. But once opening bowlers Ben Bacon and Andy Hall found their rythm the run rate slowed. Seam was replaced by spin and 'spin twins' Sooty and Hoops slowed the rate still further backed up by some excellent Fives fielding. Wickets fell regularly and Upminster were shot out for just 124 in 46.3 overs. Sooty returned 4-32 from 16.3 overs whilst Hoops was equally impressive with 4 -24 from 11 overs.

Rahul Bhome and James Foley gave the reply the perfect start as they added 46 for the first wicket before James was caught for 23. This brought the'in-form' Hoops to the wicket, he and Rahul then virtually settled the outcome before a mix up saw Hoops run out for 40. Just enough runs were left to get to enable Rahul to complete a deserved half century with the winning hit, reaching the target with more than 32 overs in hand.
