Match report Fives A team are Essex Champions as they beat Hadleigh & Thundersley by 31 runs.
Batting first Fives started well by taking 15 off the opening over. Edwards was then dismissed, but Jackson joined Norris to keep the momentum going & both retired on 25. Ballard went early, run out, after an unfortunate mix up with Bhome & Kay soon followed stumped. However, Norris returned & batted superbly, ably supported by Bhome & Jackson to see Fives to a useful 134 off their alloted 12 overs. Norris finishing 52 not out.
In reply, Hadleigh struggled to get on top of the Fives opening bowlers of Kay & Ballard and were soon behind the run rate. The introduction of Bhome pegged Hadleigh back even further and at the halfway stage Hadleigh were 40 for 3 and in trouble. Fives continued to keep the pressure on Hadleigh with the bowlers being backed up by some brilliant fielding. The last wicket being taken in the final over to leave Hadleigh well short of their target.

Next stage is a playoff match v the winners of the Suffolk area in Ipswich on Sunday 14th Feb. Winners earn the right to play in the Regional finals at Kent CCC on Sunday 21st Feb.
