Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Lost by 9 runs

Match report Fives lost the toss and were asked to field on what looked like a good wicket to bat on. ‎Upminster only reached 10 off the first five overs thanks to some good bowling from Henry and ‎George. However, the Upminster batsman then started attacking our bowlers in the middle ‎overs and they reached 96 off the next 15 overs though the last few overs restricted them to ‎‎121 off the 20 overs.‎
Fives didn’t get off to the greatest start losing both openers for 3 off 4 overs. After the slow ‎start Fives had to consolidate which was exactly what Rahul and Umar did. They started picking ‎out singles and they then found the boundaries on a regular basis, hitting 9 fours and a huge six ‎in their stand of 62. As the Fives’ batsmen kept up with the required run rate they were both ‎forced to retire with the score 72 off 12 overs. Unfortunately the momentum was lost, and in ‎the last five overs 40 runs were required but the Upminster bowlers bowled well leaving Fives ‎‎9 runs short.‎
