Match report The biggest test so far this season was passed with flying colours. Loughton 2nd place in the league Fives 3rd. A crucial toss was won by the Fives skipper who judged the coin spin to perfection. Asked to bat first Loughton found the going tough against Coleman and Kay, backed up by some good fielding. The Fives team were really up for this game and wickets began to consistently fall. Loughton finally dismissed for 133 from 41 overs. Wheeler took 4 wickets, Kay 3, Maher 2 and Coleman 1
Britton was promoted to open the batting with O mahoney. Any fears of not scoring the required runs soon disappeared as Britton dominated an opening stand of 92. Britton hit 3 x 6 and 7 x 4 before he departed going for another big hit for a well made and aggressive 61. Maher joint O Mahoney in seeing Fives home. Fives took just 27.1 overs to secure 18 points and move into second place,17 points behind Colchester who Fives still have to play.
