Dear All,
I hope you are all safe and well and enjoying the slight relaxation of the lockdown rules in the sunshine. Firstly, I wanted to thank again everyone who attended the second remote quiz last week. I hope you enjoyed it and well done to James McKay and family on a well deserved win!
Secondly, thank you so much again to everyone who has paid their subs or made a donation to the club to help us through these tough times. It is very much appreciated. We are keen to get as much cricket for our members as we can this summer.
With this in mind, this email is mainly to inform members of the news about using the nets at the Paddock following the ECB's published guidelines last week. Following the latest ECB guidelines, we can announce that one artificial net will be made available to use at certain times from Wednesday 27th May for members of the club, providing they have paid their annual subs for 2020. If members have not paid their subs for this season as yet, then they must pay at least the social sub of £25 for now to be permitted to use the nets during this period of lockdown.
The times that the nets will be available in the next 7 days are as follows. They are 50 minute slots plus 10 minutes of changeover time. Members are permitted to book a maximum of 2 slots at these given times. Dates for future weeks will be added in due course.
Wednesday 27th May 5-6pm; 6-7pm; 7-8pm;
Thursday 28th May 5-6pm; 6-7pm; 7-8pm;
Friday 29th May: 5-6pm; 6-7pm; 7-8pm
Sunday 31st May 9-10am; 10-11am; 11am-12pm; 12-1pm; 1-2pm
You may use the nets with members of your household, or with one other person from outside your household, whilst keeping 2m apart at all times. You must therefore only use the net in groups of no more than two people, unless you are using the net exclusively with members of your household.
If you plan on using the nets, you must comply with the following:
- Social distancing rules will be in strict operation and will commence from the car park to the nets.
- The gates will be unlocked at the start of each booking slot and locked afterwards by a member of the Committee.
- Sessions must be booked by contacting me, Jonny Kay, via email only, on jjk@forest.org.uk. Bookings will be made on a first come first served basis. I will log all bookings.
- Sessions will be 50 minutes with 10 minutes to allow for safe changeover of sessions
- Players must use their own equipment at all times. The club will not provide any equipment other than a set of stumps.
- No saliva should be used on the ball.
- Wash your hands at home before and after using the outdoor facilities
- Bring your own hand sanitiser. The club may provide this but we cannot guarantee that at all times.
- The door to the clubhouse will be unlocked for people to gain access to the defibrillator only. The clubhouse is strictly out of bounds for any other reason.
- There will be no access to the toilets in the clubhouse.
- Members are using the net at their own risk.
- Avoid touching anything as much as possible whilst on club premises.
- Do not overstay your allocated time slot: you should be clear of the net area by the time the
next users arrive.
- As always, the health and safety of participants is paramount - please ensure those using the
nets minimise the risk of injury (wear helmets, pads etc).
We politely ask that all Members comply with these measures to allow us to open the facilities on a longer-term basis. If the rules and procedures mentioned above are not followed then we will have no choice but to close the nets again. I hope many of you will take up this opportunity in the coming days and weeks.
With good wishes,
Jonny Kay
