Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Won by 110 runs

Match report Fives and heronians comfortably beat great baddow in the Peter Coe cup . The winning margin was 110 runs mainly due to an exceptional opening stand by William Buttleman and Harry samuel . The boys have put some good knocks together in the last six months but this time they surpassed everything putting on 202 for the first wicket before firstly Harry ( 57 ) and then William ( 113 ) were retired .
The running between the wickets was exceptional with Will taking command of the strike , making a flawless century and skipper Harry playing a marvellous supporting role for his half century against better than average ( 3 Essex U12s ) bowling .
With Dan and Tom making quick fire runs in the last 5 overs fives finished on 245 for no loss after 30 overs .
Great Baddow batted reasonably well in reply showing quite a bit of depth to there batting order .
Kelsey was his usual reliable self with the ball and he and Isuru , who bowled well , claimed a wicket apiece in their opening overs , one a super catch at square leg from findlay day , but Baddows third wicket partnership was going well until Buttleman made the breakthrough with a crucial wicket .
Although showing signs of fatigue after their mammoth partnership Will and Harry conceded only 24 runs from their 9 overs and with wickets four down now the game was won at drinks .
We then had the chance to give everybody a bowl and it was good to see Ollie Pyne get more consistent through his overs plus Tom Williams bowled very well .
Baddow ended on 135 for 7 .
Well done boys and congratulation to William on his first century for fives .
