Match report A very close game with Woodford batting first.

We fielded well, took three catches and made three run outs. Unfortunately we bowled poorly and gave away 37 in wides and 8 in no balls. They scored 87 for 7 (46 being extras – 1 bye). Our bowling figures are:- Niall 1 for 16 off 3, Rishin 1 for 6 off 3, Harry 0 for 9 off 2, Adam 1 for 4 off 2, Rohan 0 for 11 off 3, Matthew 1 for 14 off 3, Max 0 for 12 off 2, Aryan 0 for 6 off 1 and Patrick C 0 for 7 off 1.

Fives’ innings started disastrously with both openers run out for 0s.Patrick D rode his luck and saw Max and Tom bowled before he was joined by Patrick C. They both scored and ran well, pushing the fielders. Patrick D hit two glorious legside 4s before eventually being bowled on 18. Patrick C continued in the same vein and smashed four lusty blows for 4 before eventually being run out on 22. Matthew batted well before being run out on 5. Harry was run out for 1 and Adam and Niall could not quite get us the last couple of runs and we ended on 86 for 8. We had scored 52 off the bat (11 more than Woodford) but they had only given 28 in wides, 4 in byes and 2 in leg-byes.

Our Man – of – the – Match is Patrick Coglan for his brave fielding (resulting in a trip to the hospital after the match) and his top score of 22. Well done Patrick and let’s hope your finger soon recovers.
