Match report On a pleasant summer morning a young Fives side were soundly beaten by Wanstead. Electing to bat first our opponents got off to a steady start before accelerating later in their innings to score 129. Dropped catches didn't help our cause but despite this the bowlers stuck to the task and all bowled well at times. Flnley Day showed his versatility with his surprisingly useful (and turning!) off breaks.

in reply our batting was in truth poor with all but one of the batsmen contributing to their own downfall with some injudicious shot selection. Finley was the pick of the batsmen demonstrating his all round skills with a measured knock. He was ably supported in a lower order partnership by Patrick Coghlan. The most effective 'batsmen' for the team however was Extra , which rather sums up our batting performance.

With such a young team defeat was possibly always on the cards, but despite this there were positives to take forward with some of the youngsters showing promise for the future.
