Match report On a beautiful sunny evening, the U15s started their season off with a close win over local rivals Oakfield Parkonians. Winning the toss and batting first, we got off to a positive start with Josh Richards looking a class act, ably supported by Michael Batt,Jack Dennis and Tom Kelsey. We were also assisted by that very talented batsman, "extras", who contributed 33! Some enthusiastic support from George Neale and Charles Allen saw our total reach 154 - 8 off our 20 overs. In reply, we got off to a dream start due to the combined efforts of Viraj Gandhi and 'TK' and had the opposition at 23 - 3. However, the Kalley brothers steadied the ship and both batted impressively before Paran retired out and Jack Dennis accounted for his brother. The game was still in the balance up to the final over, with OPs needing 13 runs to win. The first ball sailed over the rope for 6 and was greeted with much delight by our opponents. The next ball was hit to square leg and desperate to get back on strike and under pressure, the second run was attempted. Cool heads in the field prevailed, the ball was thrown in and Michael whipped the bails off to secure the victory! Well done lads! COYF!
