Match report Having been put in to bat by Upminster, the openers put on 36 for the first stand and got our innings off to a solid start. Some enthusiastic and positive batting from Omer and Billy pushed the score up rapidly and with Tom and David coming in to continue pushing the runs, Fives ended up on 129 off their allotted overs. In reply, the Upminster openers looked to be accomplished bats but a fine catch by Omer on the boundary dismissed one of them in the 4th over. They then lost 6 wickets in 28 runs, with 3 falling in Portia's first over. Some hefty blows to deep mid wicket, a fielding position that was left unguarded for some reason, meant the score board began to move much closer than we'd have liked, but the return of Omer, Tom and TK meant the total was always going to be difficult with only tail enders left in. This was an entertaining and close game but the lads stuck to the task and under the guiding arm of captain, TK, managed to secure the win. Every player had their part in the game and a special mention for Zayan, who ran tirelessly in the field, and Nathan, who brought a big smile to our faces with his 'footballing' skills! Well done lads! COYF!
