Match report Fives lost the toss and had to field first which somewhat scuppered the captain's plan of batting first, getting a quick 200 and bowling Belhus out to become League Chaampions! Belhus had drafted in their occasional 2nd XI player who looked a class above anything else that day. Having compiled an effortless 70 on a very dry pitch he was removed by Pirak taking a sharp catch off his brother's bowling. Eventually the various bowling changes brought reward and Uncle Yaz worked his way through the midde and lower order aided by good spells from Thuva and Rishin. Yaz ended with remarkable figures of 6 for 20 off 13.4 overs with 7 maidens.
F&H were now in a position to be League Champions by making 164 in our 40 overs while losing no more than 4 wickets. The batting order was arranged so all the big hitters went in early as rain was forecast. Having moved smoothly to 23 without loss in 5 overs a few spots of rain fell and Belhus fled the field claiming bad light and slippery conditions - we have all played on in very much worse conditions - bringing a disappointing end to what had been an excellent season.
