Match report On a rather cold Saturday, Shenfield won the toss and sent Fives and Heronians out to bat. Unfortunately two quick wickets fell and by the end of the 14th over Fives were 27-2. There was no need to wonder what score Fives would end up with, J Mordrick and K Beazleigh came out to bat and made a stunning partnership of 222 in 154 minutes. Beazleigh contributing 144 in just 153 balls before being caught. Mordrick following quite soon in almsot exactly the same fashion for 79. Fives batted for another 4 overs before declaring on 272-4 off 63 overs.
Shenfield went out to bat in slightly better weather and batted steadily but also losing wickets many thanks to T Ballard who ended up with final figures of 20-2-70-5 and dismissed most of the top and middle order. Shenfield then started batting to save a draw when they were 8 wickets down and despite the best efforts of a range of bowlers, Fives could not dismiss either of the two batsmen. Both S Moore and M Hindley managed to stay in for 22* off 72 and 83 balls respectively bringing the game to a rather slow end with a score of 185-8 off 61 overs.
