Match report After losing an important toss it was always going to be hard for Fives to get a result in their favour on a very damp South Woodford wicket. Nevertheless, Fives set about their task well with a solid looking start from Bhome and Edwards. However, with these two dismissed in quick succession, and Beazleigh following 15 minutes later, a period of quiet consolidation was needed and duly came from veterans Fitzgerald and Mordrick. Eventually though, Fitzgerald was frustrated out and this brought Ballard to the wicket to continue the good work. Once he was out 40 runs later, the wickets fell like skittles with the last 6 wickets falling for just 16 runs leaving Fives with a measly 97 all out. South Woodford wasted no time in getting the runs, reaching their target in just 20 overs. The bowling was chopped and changed a lot to try and disrupt the batsman and Tom Clark did get 2 wickets with his legendary slower-ball, but the damage had already been done and there was no hope left of Fives getting a win. Fives picked up a consolation point from the game but the performance must improve next week against Gidea Park and Romford to stay clear of the relegation zone.
