Match report After a disapointing batting performance from local rivals Loughton with just one person getting more than 14, R. Akram with 48, and some superb bowling from the Fives bowlers, Loughton had a low total of 134 - 9 from 66 overs to defend. Just after the last over of the Loughton innings the weather meant that an early tea was taken while the Fives players and spectators tried to clear the field of water for play to continue. At 6 p.m. the decision was made and with just 25 overs to get the required runs the Fives batsmen S. Fitzgerald and K. Beazleigh went out to bat. Beazleigh got a very quick 23 in just 14 balls when one of the Loughton players decided the ground was still unsafe to play cricket on and the game was abandoned.
