Match report We won the toss and despite losing Murphy early on made a solid start. The
scoring rate increased rapidly in the second half of the innings however as
Charlie Gay and Mike McDonald shared a good partnership. Both played some
inovative but highly effective shots to help us to a reasonable 218 for 5.
Defending this target proved difficult however as right from the word go
their opener set about attacking our bowling. It became almost impossible to
bowl to him as he powered his way to 154 not out and saw Brentwood home with
8 wickets and roughly ten overs to spare. Of the Fives' bowlers, Eddie Murphy
should be given credit for a good spell where he found the edge of the bat on
a couple of occasions and was unlucky not to take more wickets.
