Match was Drawn

Match report Fives won the toss and opted to bat first. We found ourselves 78 for 6 after 28 overs against some good Hainault bowling. However, Tino showed his class at third team level and caressed 56, leaving Fives 126 for 7 off 35 overs. Navs and Neary then took the score to 175 off 47 before Navs departed for an excellent 42. Sibbo then came in and joined the skipper in taking Fives to 213 off 52, Hainault taking 3.5 hours to bowl their alloted overs. An excellent recovery.
In reply, Fives struggled to cope with Hainault being 147 for 1 with plenty of overs left. A few dropped catches off a hostile Tino not helping. However, the introduction of Navs resulted in Hainault clinging on for a draw ably supported by Mark 'Wickets' Wheeler. Hainault batted the last 4 overs back to escape with a draw. A game which ebbed and flowed with a draw probably being the right result, in a game which was played in a very good spirit. Fives take 11 points to Hainaults 6.
