Match report Fives lost the toss and were asked to bat first with a much changed line up to recent weeks. Matt Adcock got us off to our customary quick start blasting 52 out of a first wicket partnership of 69. We then lost a couple of quick wickets which bought Chalky to the crease. Chalks batted very sensibly and made an invaluable 70*. He received support first from opener Rob Allum, then from a crippled skipper (the running between the wicket in this patnership something to behold) and the form batsman in the side Steve Adcock to take Fives to a competitive 240 for 4 off 52 overs. Sooty wasnt at his most destructive best with the new ball and it was left to Rob Allum to brake the opening partnership which put on 120. Fives clawed their way back into the game with Sooty and Adita bowling in tandem in the last hour. However, we didnt quite have enough about us to pull off a victory and went down to a 4 wicket defeat. Fives take 10 points and remain top of the league with a 7 point cushion over 2nd placed Hutton and a 19 point cushion over third placed Chelmsford.
