Match report Fives lost the toss and were put in to the field on what was a hot summer's day. Fives and Heronians opening attack bowled well restricting Brentwood. Congratulations to James S and Michael K. Then Hadder came on and turned the ball square on a very dry wicket which kept the pressure on. Yaz then yet again bowled well (3 for 62 off 19 overs). The fielding deteriorated as the innings progressed and important catches were dropped but the bowlers kept going. James's 2nd spell was key in making sure Brentwood did not score over 175 in their 52 overs.

In reply, the bounce started to get lower and runs were harder to come by. It was a war of attrition as we edged slowly towards the winning total. However, at 113 for 2 at the start of the last hour we looked in a strong position. The runs then started to dry up as we scored 34 runs in the next 10 overs losing just one wicket. In the next 8 overs we managed to score the final 25 runs with the loss of 4 wickets which took us to victory but only just. A big thanks to some lusty blows from Jag at the end. Hopefully next week people will be more focused and also be prepared to umpire/score when required.
