Match report Lost the toss and were invited to field.

Benfleet reached 127 for 2 off 30 0vers. But then they were then able to accelerate to 190 for 2 off 40 overs and secured a further 88 runs in the next 11 overs before declaring. All the bowlers struggled to achieve consistency in terms of bowling straight.

In reply we similarly achieved 127 for 2 off 28 overs. The skipper scoring his fifty within the first 20 overs. In the final hour - in the first 10 overs only 44 runs scored when acceleration was required and requested by the skipper. We scored 62 runs off the last 10 overs with Yaz at last finding some form with 41*.

It was fair to say that Benfleet batted, bowled and fielded better than us on what was the hottest day fo the year so far.
