Match report Fives produced their best all round performance of the season to comprehensively beat a good Ilford side on saturday. Fives won the toss and elected to field and the opening partnership of Hall and Pettett bowled very steady at the start. Although there were no initial breakthroughs the run rate was only at about three an over on what looked a good batting track. White replaced Hall and immediatly found a nagging line and length to frustrate the batsmen. This was coupled with some fantastic ground fielding which was creating the extra pressure. Fives were bowling an exceptional over rate with the three seamers who were doing a fantastic job. Pettett bowled unchanged for 26 straight finishing with great figures of 26-4-93-3 and White finished with 17-1-55-4. Both bowled exceptionally well. This left Ilford declaring on 194-7 at about ten past 4.

This enabled Fives to have ample time to get the runs required. After the early dismissal of Brathwaite, it was left to Foley and Zain Iqbal to dominate for the next hour or so, with both playing some great cricket strokes and accumulating their runs sensibly. Everyone chipped in with the run chase and it was left to Zain Iqbal(96no) to hit the winning run to see Fives home by 6 wickets.

Although everyone contributed in the field, Rob McKay's keeping was first class, only one bye all game which was the first ball of the game. The team as a whole fielded superbly throughout.
