Match report Fives crashed out of the ECB Regional Finals at the semi final stage after a poor display against Betteshanger from Dover, Kent.
Batting first Fives were under pressure from ball one as the Betteshanger bowlers put a strangle on the opening pair of Buxton & Norris as they found runs hard to come by. Jackson in at 3 also struggled and after 7 overs Fives only had 39 on the board for the loss of 2 wickets. Bhome / Ballard & Edwards all tried to increase the runrate but only Bhome with a hard faught 23 had any success as Fives were bowled out for 76 in the 12th over.
In reply, Fives bowlers / fielders battled hard but the target of 77 was never going to stretch the Betteshanger batters & they strolled to victory in the 10th over without losing a wicket. Bhome the pick of the bowlers with 0-14 off his 3 overs.
A disapointing end to a campaign which started back in October 2008 & stretched a 16 game unbeaten run. Many thanks to the members who supported the lads along the way.
