Match report Fives lost the toss and we were very kindly asked to bat on a baking hot day at the paddock.

3 naughts in the top 4 left Fives on 27 for 3 off 9. It was left to Esso and Porks to put on a much needed 60 run partnership. During this partnership one of the rotsey brothers decided to put a six through the pavillion window - ill let u decide which of the 2 u think it was (clue - he has been seen in the Rising Sun wearing sum very peculiar looking shirts)

Fives were goin at a steady but unspectacular rate with useful contributions from Cider (32) and Gordrick (32*) before the skipper took it upon himself to promote himself from his usual no.11 spot to the dizzy heights of no.9 to get FIves up to a defendable but below par total of 227 for 7 off their allotted 40 overs.

Tea was up to the usual high standards by raquel and her ever increasing entourage - if there are any single males in Fives on the look out for a bit of talent, the paddock is the place to be on a sunday afternoon - nuff said!!!

Ed and Hamad opened the bowling and bowled very well to leave Woodford Green on 79 for 2 off 17 overs, with the game very much in the balance.

Cue the skipper to send down an over of seam/spin which resulted in WG loosing a further two wickets, leaving them on 85 for 4 off 19, with Fives now in the driving seat.

However, despite the best efforts of hilts, porks and nick allum, WG lost no further wickets and ran out winners in the 38th over.

Credit to Woodford Green who were a very social bunch and stayed for a few drinks after the game which is good to see.
