Match report Fives A team narrowly lost to Buck Hill on Sat to hand Buck Hill the title.
Buck Hill batted 1st & scored steadily throughout their innings. With wickets in hand they pushed on in the latter overs scoring 53 off the final 3 to amass a competitive 152. All the Fives bowlers got a bit of tap but Jamie was probably the pick.
In reply Fives lost Bucko early but Gary & Ben batted well to both retire in quick time. Phil & TB continued the good work with TB being particualrly destructive. Off the last 3 overs Fives needed 40 to win, then 28 off 2 & 19 off the last with just Gary & TB remaining. The 1st 3 balls of the last over were all hit for 3 , then a 2 off the 4th to leave 8 required off 2 balls. Unfortunately TB got slightly too much elavation on his straight drive & was caught off the ceiling. This left the impossible task of scoring 8 off the last ball.
So Fives reign as champions is over & must now beat Walthamstow in the final game next week to secure runners up spot
