Fives and Heronians Cricket Club

Scorecard

Waltham Panthers v Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Indoor League 'C' on Sat 11 Dec 2010 at 10.00 am
Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Lost by 2 wickets

Match report Fives somehow managed to contrive defeat from the jaws of victory. The opposition were 15 minutes late and we had a 10 over a side game, which left a bad feeling in the mouth, as Fives were incorrectly punished for the oppositions very slack time keeping. Fives benefited from some lacklustre bowling and ran very well between the wickets as we posted 110 off 10 overs. Neary opened and retired (47 coming off the first 3 overs). J Sibley got 23 and the rest of the guys chipped in, with no-one playing the commanding innings.
Waltham Panthers had a solid start but were behind the rate off the first 5 overs. However, sloppy fielding and a bit of luck (catches off the walls falling in no mans land) left the oppo needing 14 off the last over with 2 wickets in hand. We went down to defeat off the penultimate ball. A dissapointing result in a game we should have won having played good cricket for 90% of the game. However, we need to be swtiched on for 100% of the game. Jack Jerrom was pick of the bowlers.
MOM - Neary

A complaint has been made to the league as a side should have at least 5 players ready to participate at the scheduled start time as per the rules of indoor cricket.
