Match report Old Brentwoods won the toss and elected to bat.

In the early part of their innings Old B’s decided to attack with boundaries and dot balls alike. However, it was Mark Wheelers’ night, two direct hits resulting in run outs plus a CT & B, Old B’s were then suddenly three down for not many. Derek and Simon then bowled well in the middle to restrict the runs. Finally, I must mention Stan standing up to all the bowlers keeping wicket with his pads, gloves and arms to good affect. In the end Old Brentwoods ended up 63 all out.

In reply, the skipper went early LBW Ollie. JT then by his high standards ground out a 27* before retiring. It was then left to Stan Foley 11* (off 9 overs) and Mark Wheeler 11* to bring home the win (64 for 1 with 4 balls to spare). This must be the first time in our history that we have ever won our first match of this competition. A good all-round performance
