Match report Fives reached the Essex Indoor Finals with a hard faught victory against Ardleigh Green.
Batting 1st Fives got off to the worst possible start with Gary run out off the 1st ball of the innings. Enter Ben who attacked the bowling from the offset, retiring with a quickfire 25. Glenn went 2nd ball & when Ed soon followed Fives were stuttering. However, TB played a quality knock , well supported by JK as Fives reached a par 120 off the 12 alloted overs. Ben & TB both finished with 30+ apiece.
In reply Ardleigh started like a train scoring 62 off 4 overs manipulating the bowling with ease. However, a brilliant 1 handed catch by Ben gave Fives hope. Fives picked up 3 run outs as Ardleigh pressed the panic button. 17 runs were required from the final over bowled by Ed but another run out off the 4th ball ensured Fives went through to Finals day in January 2011 for the 2nd year in succession
