Match report Fives beat top of the table Loughton in a close game, running out winners by 8 runs. Fives got off to a customary solid start with Nick aiming to retire and Jamie looking to smash the ball back down the high road towards Loughton. Jake came in and anchored the innings with Neary chipping in with a quickfire 20 to take Fives to a competitive 91 for 5 off our 12 overs. Jamie P conceded one off his first over and was backed up well by Streaky and Porks. Loughton's opening batsman put on 40 off 6 overs but lost their way once the youngsters came in. Loughton needed 20 off the last two overs and Jamie bowled their returning opening bat off the 2nd ball and a run out ensued off the last ball of the penultimate over as Fives won by the narrowest of margins. Excellent team performance. We have strung 4 wins out of 5 and now sit mid table just as likely to get relegated as promoted. It would a fantastic achievment if we could win our last two games and finish on a high
