Match report In damp and very overcast conditions, Fives won the toss and elected to bat. Against adequate bowling Fives found themselves 24 for 4, with Gary (sheeny) Edwards looking on from the other end - mention should be made of Neil Brathwaite who was very unlucky to have been judged to have snicked one behind, despite his bat not being anywhere near the ball.

Cue a crisis, cue Ben Britton to come in an play an aggressive counter attacking innings, punishing anything wide or short.

However once Ben and Gary had departed in quick succession the writing was on the wall and the innings closed at 3.50pm with Fives at least 50 below par on a track which was offering some assistance to the bowlers if you bowled in the right areas.

Highlight of the day was the mid innings break where Kay Ballard produced a quite fantastic tea

Fives needed early wickets to stand a chance but although Tom Clark and JK bowled a solid line and length it was not until the introduction of Chris White that Fives made a breathrough, quickly followed by a second dismissal as the Fives boys were beginning to sense an unlikely win.

Although Josh Peters (JP) removed their Australian overseas a feather in the cap for Josh, Fives could not find another breakthrough as Westcliff cruised to a 7 wicket win with over 90 minutes of play remaining.
