Match report Fives won the toss in very humid conditions and opted to bat with the aim of batting first and collecting 8 batting points for posting 200.

We moved serenely to 54 for the loss of braths early on after 20 overs with few alarms. Daniel Stevens showing his undoubted class playing some exquisite shots through the point/cover region.

Dans dimissal preceeded a mini-collapse as we slumped to 74 for 5. This proved the cue for Ben Britton to play his best innings for the first team as he applied himself very well, quite happy to play defensively when required but coupled with some rasping boundaries when the bowlers erred in line or length.

Ben was ably supported first by Russell Beckett and then Chris White. Chris showed his maturity in working the ball in to gaps and playing for his partner at the other end

We managed to post 206 for 9 off our 52 overs which was a challenging total on a wicket which was offering a little bit of assistance to the bowlers with some uneven bounce. It was also a very good recovery from a precarious position and and the boys should be proud of themselves.

Tom Clark & JK opened up and JK was rewarded with some early agrression with the wickets of the two Chingford openers. The introduction of TB bought a futher success and the Fives boys were sensing a first win of the season, as Chingford were under the cosh at 50 for 3.

However, we began to lose our impetous as Pietersen (brother of Kevin) and Odedra began to play with more freedom. TB rotated the bowlers to no avail

Chingfords 4th wicket stand of 150 took the game away from us and despite a late wicket from Gordon Whorlow of Rob Mckays mate Odedra, they ran out comfortable winners.
