Match report Fives 1st X1 season go underway in disappointing fashion with a 7 run loss against Hertford in a 40 over per side match.
Stand in captain Edwards won the toss & choose to bowl first. In total 8 different bowlers were used to ensure they all got some early season overs into their legs. The pick being Babar, Doig & young Sibley who looks like he's put on a yard of pace over the winter.
Hertford finished their innings on 215 - 5. An achievable target on a good wicket.
In reply the top 6 Fives batsman all got some useful time in the middle getting to 20 +. Unfortunately no-one managed to go on & get a big score which would have won the game. Buxton top scoring with 48. The tail faded away to leave Fives 7 runs short.
A shame Fives lost but more importantly the bowlers brushed off the cobwebs & the batters all got useful time in the middle.
