Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Won By 98 Runs

Match report Fives and Heronians moved to a home quarter-final vs defending champions South Woodford after a 98 run win against Epping at The Paddock in the final Dukes Essex T20 group F fixture.

After Ed Buxton and Neil Brathwaite edged behind in just the second over of the match after Jonny Kay won the toss and elected to bat, superb knocks of 85 not out off 63 balls from Gary Edwards, 64 off 38 balls by Ben Britton and 30 not out from 10 deliveries by Garry Norris saw Fives reach a commanding 199-4 off their 20 overs.

In reply, Epping held on well but never threatened the stiff target and batted out their 20 overs to end on 101-5 with Bilal Ashfaq the pick of the bowlers again with 2-28 in 4 overs, the captain himself with economical figures of 3-1-6-1 whilst young James Sibley impressed with 4-0-18-1 and Buxton collected 1-10 from 3 overs.
