Match report Fives remain deep in relegation trouble at the bottom of the league after a crushing 152 run defeat against Chelmsford at Chelmer Park. Having lost the toss Fives took to the field and started well with Rehan Iqbal causing early trouble and once again bowling a fine first spell. At one stage it looked like Chelmsford would be lucky to get anywhere near 200, but to their credit they batted sensibly on a pitch which got easier to bat on as the game went on. All the Fives bowlers done ok but perhaps didn't bowl tight enough and probably should have limited Chelmsford to 200 or so.

In reply and under pressure Fives managed to produce a very poor batting display in a game where they really needed to win to give themselves a good chance of survival. Unfortunately, Fives lost early wickets and couldn't contain an attack which was an all spin attack. Fives simply didn't apply themselves in chasing the runs and had no real excuses for getting bowled out for 91. Fives crumbled under the pressure of an increasing run rate to eventually lose by the margin of 152 runs.

With three games to go Fives remain at the bottom and will probably have to win all of them to guarantee survival. The team will have to pick themselves up and give it their best shot as we approach the final few games of the season.
