Match report Fives won the toss and batted first on a wet pitch with an extremely slow outfield. With Fives not being a full strength, we got off to a good start with an opening stand of 30+. The middle order then collapsed to 120-6, with some bad strokes and Rob being caught off a No-Ball, and then being Run Out at the other end (the most bizarre dismissal in 3rd XI history). Thankfully the tale wagged with Aqeel scoring a quick and very important 49 before being Run Out off the last ball of the innings going for two to register his 50. Tricky played the anchoring role a scored a well earned 74 on a pitch which caused everyone else problems a great performance from him.
When Fives took to the field after tea, we were going for the win after bowling well on a similar pitch the week before. A good opening spell from Rob and Adam saw Chingford 35-2. Rob then proceeded to bowl a mammoth spell of 22overs taking 4 wickets; he surely deserves all credit for putting Fives in a winning position. Haider came on in the last hour taking 3 quick wickets, but Fives were unable to take the last wicket for the win. A fantastic effort in the field, with a great team spirit and some excellent catches from Adam (2), Aqeel (1) and Joe Mordrick (1) and from Tricky (1).
