Match report Fives were bowled out for 151 in 37.4 overs. Having been 81 for 7 it could have been a lot worse but for Zafar who combined solid defence with clean hitting to make an almost match winning 54 coming in at number 9.
JK picked up one of the key Upminster wickets in Ison in the first over of their reply and subsequently picked up two more to leave Upminster on 35 for 3. However, overseas star Neestham rattled up 54 without breaking sweat as Upminster were cruising to victory. The trio of Fives spinners then came into their own as Zafar picked up Neestham for 54, bowling him, and with Rahul picking up wickets at the other end using the slope to great effect Upminster were on the ropes at 108 for 7. However, despite the best efforts of all four bowers O'Dell and Aggio-Brewe batted very sensibly to take Upminster home to a deserved 3 wicket win. A key lesson in any form of cricket is to make sure you bat your overs, a score of 200 would have been a match winning one.
