Ilford v Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI on Sat 21 May 2011 at 1.00 pm
Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Won by 7 wickets

Match report Another dry and sunny day...another simple chase down of a respectable score.

F&H lost the toss and were put into the field. The Ilford batting began in typical fashion with the ball disappearing to all parts of the ground. The F&H fielding was again generally poor, with the older players showing the youngsters the way forward. However, the position was rescued by a marathon spell of 22 overs from Ashfaq, who was rewarded with five wickets and Kilpatrick cleaning up the tail nicely.

The F&H innings began well against a disciplined Ilford attack. Adcock cruising to another 50 before he and then Norris perished trying to up the run rate. Kilpatrick was batting serenely and did not look like getting out on a flat track. Indeed he did not get out and finished unbeaten on 87. However, in the final analysis it was the 80 not out from Ballard which was scored with indecent haste which won F&H the match with a couple of overs to spare.

Another good win...but the fielding needs to improve drastically!
