Match report Fives won the toss and batted on a hard and true track. Saqib and Sharouk got us off to an excellent start against some lively bowling from a strong Loughton team lying second in the table. After the openers and Haider went the middle order collapsed as the arrival of thick cloud cover helped the ball to swing in gloomy conditions. The tail wagged a little but the total of 186 was at least 40 short of being competitive. Even worse, the running between the wickets was inept and lazy which prevented us reaching 200 for the extra bonus points. Must try harder!

Loughton's reply got off to a flier as Lewis struggled in his first bowl since last August and Ali gave Uncle Yaz the charge to hit the only six of the match. Skipper Atul juggled his bowling well without ever managing to get on top of the batters. Iffy and Saqib were the pick of the bowlers but we simply didn't have enough runs on the board to create pressure. Fielding was generally good with only one catch going down - a big improvement on previous weeks.
