Match report After a lengthy mopping up exercise with brooms and towels the game got under way just after 3pm. Fives won the toss and put Chelmsford in to bat on what was still a very wet wicket. Due to slippery conditions, Haider and Jag opened the bowling while Roger bided his time in the outfield. Following a couple of early wickets, Chelmsford middle order dug in and ground their way up to 150 off 36 overs. Atul again chipped in clean bowling two with his flighted left arm slows - no substitute for bowling straight!

In reply, Fives got off to a flier with Saqib and Shahrukh putting on 53 in the 9 overs before the start of the last 20. Unfortunately Shahrukh was immediately run out and with Haider and then Rotsey failing to find their touch quickly on a damp wicket, Fives fell behind the clock in the face of fast accurate bowling by Shepherd jr. When Saqib was run out for an excellent 54, Fives required 10 an over off the last five and settled for the draw at which point Chelmsford belatedly brought on the spinners - too little and too late to make an interesting match.
