Match report A second Nasser Hussain match saw Fives take a trip to High Roding on Bank ‎Holiday Monday. Opening the batting, the visitors got off to an unfortunately ‎characteristic start by losing two early wickets before Rahul (as usual) and Michael ‎steadied the ship and built a fantastic third wicket partnership of 127 before Rahul ‎failed to pick a googly and was bowled for 70. His innings once again built from a ‎slow start to finding the boundary regularly and he went on to strike nine fours and ‎one six. Michael continued with the assistance of Ashish and looked set to bat right ‎though to the end before he was bowled for 65. An excellent patient innings, ‎running the ball around as well as hitting the boundary when the balls allowed. ‎Late hitting from Ashish and Daniel brought the score up to 216 for six, right up to ‎par on this pitch.‎

The home side got off to a steady start pegged back by good opening spells from ‎Louise and Nicholas, Their number 3 (Sam T) was playing an excellent innings and ‎was getting good support from the top order which left them requiring 50 off the last ‎‎10 overs with plenty of wickets in hand. A close finish looked on the cards until ‎Umar came back to bowl down the hill from the top end and bowled an over which ‎cost only three runs as well as taking a wicket and inducing a run out (great throw ‎by Daniel.) From then on the home side were too far behind and Fives came out ‎fairly comfortable winners by a sixteen run margin.‎

The win was due not only to good batting by those mentioned but also excellent ‎bowling with only eleven extras. Special mention for Louise (1-23-6), Harry (1-34-6) ‎and Captain Rahul (1-33-8).‎
