Match report For three quarters of this match we looked as if we were in big trouble!‎
‎ ‎
South Woodford batted first. Charles and Viraj bowled accurately and contained their openers. Viraj was ‎bowling very fast – Patrick’s hands , he was keeping, were still stinging when we got home. Their middle ‎order hit out and our bowling became a bit wayward – we conceded 41 extras. We fielded bravely and ‎our throwing became more restrained and accurate as the game proceeded. In the end South Woodford ‎made 108 from their 12 overs.‎

We started fairly confidently with Shaan and Oliver picking up a few runs. Oliver was out to a good ‎delivery and Viraj went in. He batted excellently and was joined by Charles when Shaan was out. The new ‎pair rattled the score along and shook South Woodford with their heavy scoring. Viraj was retired on 26 ‎not out. During their partnership the opposition panicked in the field and we managed to score 8 byes ‎off one ball with some incredible running – Charles must have some greyhound in his genes! Another ball ‎conceded 6 byes!‎

By now we were sensing we could win and once Rohan joined Charles the last few runs were scored. We ‎had made 110 for 2, 2 overs were remaining and South Woodford had eclipsed our disappointing extras ‎total by conceding 49!! This was undoubtedly achieved by the pressure exerted by Viraj NO 26 and ‎Charles NO 20, and some incredible running.‎

My MAN – OF – THE – MATCH was Viraj for his excellent bowling and top score of 26.‎

This was a great fight back by Fives and the whole team should be very proud of their performance and ‎the final result.‎

Area for improvement – We need to improve the accuracy of our bowling to match our fielding and ‎batting ( just think we could have won with 5 overs to spare!!)‎
