Match report In what turned out to be the most exciting match of the season,Fives under 13's went ‎down to brave penultimate ball defeat last Friday.‎
‎ ‎
A very young and inexperienced team deprived of 6 first team squad regulars,performed ‎with great togetherness and cohesion against a seasoned BH indoor side.‎
‎ ‎
Tejan & Charles opened the batting,whereby they weathered the early barrage and got ‎the team off to a solid start.Charles was stumped in the fourth over ,as he tried to push ‎the team on & Tejan followed soon after,being dismissed with a promising score to what ‎was a candidate for catch of the season.‎
‎ ‎
Thomas and Henry came together and both looked set in the middle of the innings ,until ‎Thomas was run out after the ball avoided 3 fielders.6 kits bags and 7 spectators via the ‎side and back walls.Henry was out soon after,being similalrly unluckily caught off the ‎back wall after the seam of the ball kissed the netting virtually on the boundary.‎

Viraj fearlessly took up the baton along with Shaan and they moved the innings into the ‎final over where Viraj eventually fell on his sword & Shaan then managed hit a late 6 and ‎left us at a respectable 87-5 after battting the full 12 overs.‎
‎ ‎
Viraj & Henry shared the first 5 overs and bowled with great variation and ‎discipline,followed by Thomas & Charles who kept the scoring down against an ‎increasingly frustrated BH top order.‎
How only one wicket fell over the duration (Thomas bowling their opener) was a mystery ‎to the increasingly growing sidelines.‎
‎ ‎
It came to the last over where 3 were needed but Henry still had to bowl his remaining ‎allowable;4 dot balls later and growing tension saw the craning masses with hearts in ‎their mouths; the BH batsman somehow got in the way of Henrys fifth ‎bullet,unfortunately this ricocheted off a nearby fielder and was enough to see BH home.‎

A great match played against you couldnt wish for better opposition on the night.‎
‎ ‎
Lots of positives for all the lads,a fantastic effort and promises much for the future.‎
