Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Lost by 39 runs

Match report Playing a team who were not a club but a group of old college friends proved too much for ‎Fives on Saturday. The managers decision based on the Tottenham plan to change their team ‎from match to match saw the entire 6 who turned out on Saturday were different from those ‎who performed so well from the previous game. There were various excuses football (watching ‎or playing very sad) promotions to higher side ( fair enough) and dirty weekends away (best ‎reason of all) for these wholesome changes. This side contained three coming from the D team ‎all very useful, one who had only played once before, the fifth never before and last of all one ‎who has played too much.‎
Bowling first, all bowlers had success and nobody had excessively poor figures. The stand-in ‎captain wisely did not bowl and kept out of the way as best as possible.Sam Adcock(the player ‎making his debut) bowled well keeping the ball up to the batsmen and all the fielders including ‎the keeper Michael were outstanding saving many runs but E lite still managed 120 which at ‎Bancrofts is a decent score.‎
The Patel brothers opened the batting and Paddy Power suspended betting on which one would ‎run the other out. However money was saved because it didn’t happen.A steady start with 20 ‎odd off of 3 overs was undone when Kishen trying to push the score along was stumped.Saul ‎and Raul did manage to get confused and the latter was run out so at least the brothers ‎couldn’t fall out over that.Sam joined Saul and thoughts that the two teachers and coaches ‎would run the oppo ragged with intelligent deft shots and running were soon dispelled with Sam ‎chipping tamely back to the bowled.Michael was run out with facing,so with around 30 odd on ‎the board and over 6 overs to face, would there be another miracle? No of course not. With ‎both batsmen due at Twickenham for the Help for Heroes game and having to get there early ‎for the warm up (drinking) and the hare and tortoise in mind the last wicket pair batted out the ‎twelve overs .The score reached 81 for 4 with the help of a few wides the odd six, more than a ‎few singles and very little running. Not a poor performance overall against a strong young side ‎who will do well this season and which ever side turns out next time they will know that they ‎will get better results.‎
