Buckhurst Hill B v Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Indoor league Under 11 'B' on Fri 20 Jan 2012 at 6.15pm
Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Won by 52 runs

Match report Hi All,‎

A fantastic team performance!!!!!‎

Fives made 111 for 4, Buckhurst Hill 59 all out in 10 overs.‎

Sanjana, our captain on the night, lost the toss and we were put in to bat. Buckhurst Hill bowled ‎straight and pitched it up well to our openers, Nathan and Adam. We got going slowly and with ‎only a handful of runs on the board lost Adam, bowled. Nathan was keeping his end up with ‎Sanjana starting to score when Nathan was bowled. Now the runs really started to flow with ‎Patrick and Sanjana together. Sanjana was hitting some lovely straight drives and after a couple ‎of overs she retired having reached 25. Harry came to the crease having had three shredded ‎wheat for breakfast – he blasted the ball around the hall and ran like a whippet (my ‎encouragement to ‘RUN’ was over-enthusiastic, so my apologies to those with sensitive ‎hearing!). Harry scored a couple of straight 4s and a huge 6 – there is probably a dent in the ‎back wall. Patrick was scoring steadily off virtually every ball and like Sanjana retired on 25.‎

‎ Harry was joined by Karn Sanger – we had been unable to find another player fit or free to play ‎from the A squad – and Karn agreed to play at less than 2 hours notice. Karn scored 6 runs ‎quickly but was bowled so Sanjana was back at the crease and after just a few more quick runs ‎from Harry, he also had to retire. Patrick returned. One crazy run fest achieved 9 runs off one ‎ball. Patrick was caught behind for 30 and Harry returned to finish off the innings with Sanjana – ‎Harry on 29 NO and Sanjana on 28 NO.‎

Harry and Adam opened the bowling – accurate bowling frustrated Buckhurst Hill. Adam took 2 ‎wickets in his 3 overs – clean bowled. Harry took 1 wicket and there was also a run out off his ‎bowling – his wicket was a caught and bowled (the ball may have gone for a 6 as Harry took the ‎catch above his head and it was a flat trajectory). Sanjana bowled so well and very few runs were ‎scored. It was very frustrating for Buckhurst Hill who were now a long way behind in the run ‎chase – 27 off 6 overs. Nathan bowled straight but tended to over-pitch but not many runs were ‎scored off his overs.‎

Our fielding was excellent with some great stops and catches – Karn took a ball high above his ‎head at point and Harry took a diving catch off the netting. Three catches in the innings is great. ‎Our throwing to the stumps was accurate and sensible – we didn’t give away anything. Patrick ‎kept wicket excellently and virtually nothing got passed him.‎

Thanks again to Mums and Dads for your support, and to Steve and Victor (who umpired most ‎of the Match).‎

It was hard to select a Man – of – the – Match. Patrick top scored with 30 and kept wicket ‎brilliantly; Harry hit 29, took a wicket and a great catch plus stopped everything going in his ‎direction but Sanjana is the pick again – 28 NO, great bowling, great fielding and taking on the ‎responsibility of captain to lead the team to an emphatic win. Congratulations to Sanjana our ‎Man – of – the – Match! ‎
