Match report An under strength Fives team lost by 4 wickets to West Essex. A solid start by Keith and Greg wasnt capitalised on as we slipped from 21-0 off 2, to 34 for 4 with half the overs to bat. Sooty (showing a return to form by his own admission) and Neary then ensured we batted the overs and set West Essex a total of 60 (a partnership of 26. Credit to WE who bowled very well.
A couple of dropped catches meant we were never in the hunt as WE got home with 3 overs and wickets in hand. The fielding display notable for two excellent overs from 15 year old Ryan Easden with his leggies, Sooty showing his class with the ball assisted by future first team wicket keeper Mike Batt. For those in attendance Keith will be doing some catching practice before the next game.
