Match report Fives fell 9 runs short of victory in saturdays drawn game against Ilford. Winning the toss fives asked Ilford to bat and got off to a good start with Hall gaining an early break through. Fives bowled and fielded superbly. Ilford were 104-5 with 14 overs left. Ilford number 7 came to the crease and smashed 67 off 33 balls, some of the biggest sixes any of us have seen.ilford totalled 238-7 from 52 overs.
Fives reply got off to a fairly slow start, after the departure of Braithwaite fives found the run rate creeping up,Harding and Faulds batted sensibly and when the last fifteen overs arrived fives needed 105 with 8 wickets in hand.faulds reached a good fifty and was supported well by James Mckay who went on to score 51. The last over saw fives needing 14 but could only manage 5 loosing Dunstan and Hall in the process. Opening bowler for Ilford B Amen bowled his first 11 overs for 6 runs.
