Match report Fives edged home in a tense game at Hadleigh by 1 wkt, to record their first league win of the season. Fives won the toss and elected field, this looked a bad call by the fives captain, after nine overs Hadleigh were 79-0. Fives dug in deep and after some tight overs started to pull the game back. Four wickets a piece for Coleman and Poulter, and two for wheeler saw hadleigh bowled out for 178.
With over three hours to score the required runs, fives lost wickets on a regular basis; only Swash looked the part with a stroked innings of 51. Debutant Matt Sutton came to the wicket at no 7 and played a superb and mature innings. When last man Coleman joined him, fives required 22, which they managed to achieve with some fifteen overs left. Sutton ended on 35 not out and Reggie a priceless 1 not out, stroked through the covers.
