Match report Having lost the toss on a sweltering day Fives spent over 3 hours getting through their overs. A stuttering start by Amrit, who came back very well at the end to claim 5 for 60, helped Hainault & Clayhall off to a flier. Regular rotation of the bowlers didn't allow the batsmen to settle and the top score was only 38 and but for a succession of dropped catches and being one man short due to a breakdown of communication by the 3rd & 4th XI captains (apologies to Tom Kerr for the trouble & confusion caused), H & C would not have made 200. As it was, Amrit made an excellent job of cleaning out the tail despite one of his overs in which two catches were dropped and a guy bowled by a no ball!!

Fives reply got off to the worst possible start when the luckless Teece departed first ball having earlier dropped two catches. His captain decided to reward him by allowing him to act as a runner for over an hour - a good six quids worth Tony! With Hamad affected by the long stint in the heat dollying one up to leave Fives on 8 for 2 in the 4th over a period of rebuilding was needed. Once again Lee Hilton batted very sensibly and once again just missed out on what would have been a well deserved 50. Vice captain and captain, by now limping and with a runner, reduced the target to 119 off the last 20 but when both were out at 148 all momentum was lost and a draw was achieved in pitch darkness as the a huge thunderstorm began.
