Match report On a sweltring day, loose batting by Fives first 4 squandered winning the toss on a decent wicket leaving us at 12 for 4 after 9 overs. It took another determined knock from Commander Greene with 45 in two hours to stabilise the innings with valuable support from Delboy Maddison (not for the first time this year) and a brisk cameo of 25 in 15 balls from Amrit. A late flourish from Jiohn Walters supported by Tim Nash got us tantalisingly close to another two points at 174 -9 at 52 overs. Excellent opening bowling By Amrit and John was met with resolute batting and quite a bit of luck and it took the experimental deliveries of Tony Teece (banished from bowling since an 18 ball over a couple of months ago) to get the breakthrough at 55-1 in the 13th over. A double wicket maiden from Bob (both expertly caught by Tim Nash who took four - and two more not given by some very dodgy Brentwood umpires) widenerd the breach. Wickets continued to fall as Bob wheeled his way through 15 overs to return 5-31 and a fiery second spell by Amrit plucked out two more to reduce Brentwood to 111-9 with 13 overs left. Despite bowling 21 overs in the last hour, several bowling changes and agressive field placings was not enough to dislodge the last pair.
