Match report Fives lost the toss and were inserted on a damp and dodgy wicket which dried progressively during the day. Following Aqeel's early departure Commander Greene and the vice captain steadied the ship before the introduction of a Wanstead second team seamer (allagedly recovering from injury although he looked pretty good to us) eremoved both in a couple of overs. His attempt to intimidate Adrian with bouncers was met by corageous Carribean hooking and led to his removal from the attack. Lee Hilton's return following a lengthy and apparently dissolute holiday and a sleeples (don't ask) Friday night was understandably muted and it took a run a ball 38 from the skipper to get things moving again. Unfortunately his departure with the score on 157 in the 43rd over stopped the impetus and the last 9 overs added only 25 leaving us with a below par score of 182 -8.

Evidence of turn encouraged Fives to open with wth the spin twins who made life extremely difficult for the Wanstead top order who took 40 overs to reach 88-4. The introduction of the new bal allowed Aqeel to pouch two excellent catches at second slip off Adam Peters and with Adiran nicking a wicket at the other end Fives were in good shape with Wanstead at 107-6. At this point the Wanstead second teamer was joined by a lucky slogger just as Adam's allocation of overs ran out and these two took the game away from Fives aided by some sloppy fielding and a dropped catch at deep mid wicket.
