Scorecard

Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Under 11 v Walthamstow on Sun 27 May 2012 at 9.15am
Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Won by 34 runs

Match report Charles Allen won the toss and opted to bat. Nick Wilson and Shaan Ullah opened batting at a ‎very steady pace, making good progress in the early overs. Shaan Ullah was bowled out after ‎only scoring 2 runs but both openers communicated very well and scored runs with good running ‎between the wickets. Nick Wilson had a great performance on the bat scoring 20 runs after being ‎caught and bowled. Adam Khawja came in at number 3 and was bowled after scoring 3 runs but ‎at this point the runs were building up with Nick Wilson continuously scoring at a steady pace. ‎Sid was then bowled after scoring 1 run which meant we had to rely on Charles Allen who once ‎again scored good runs hitting 2 boundaries but was caught by the wicket keeper after scoring 20 ‎great runs. George Neal was unfortunate to be run out after scoring 3 runs but great progress by ‎him. Our next 3 batsmen came in and were all run out of which Nyle scored a good 6 runs, ‎Joseph being very unfortunate to be run out with 0 and Nathan at 1. Our last batsman was Finley ‎who was not out at 0. All in all, the entire team played very well during the 20 overs but the 40 ‎runs scored between Nick and Charles helped us achieve a total of 97 runs, leaving the ‎opposition a total of 98 to win.‎
‎ ‎
Our opening bowlers were Shaan Ullah and Charles Allen. Charles bowling 2 overs and Shaan ‎bowling 3. Shaan Ullah took a great wicket and bowled out their no 2 batsman and newcomer ‎Jai bowling out the opening batsman. Good bowling by the newcomer Jai, looking very ‎promising. George Neal bowled superbly, taking out 1 wicket and bowling 2 maiden overs, great ‎performance George! Finley Day put in a great performance, taking 2 wickets, 1 of which was ‎caught and bowled in great style. Joshua also managed to take 1 wicket which was caught by ‎Nyle and also ran out one of the opposition with a fabulous throw. Shaan Ullah once again ‎showed accuracy by hitting the stumps with a direct throw at one of the lower order batsman. ‎By this point Fives were in full control of the game and were looking very comfortable. Each ‎and everyone fielded brilliantly which kept the oppositions score to a low. All in all a great team ‎effort.

MOM - Nick Wilson deservedly man of the match batting and keeping.
