Match report Wanstead batted first and, despite accurate and well pitched bowling from all four bowlers, managed to smash us for 150 off 12 overs. Viraj took a brilliant catch which would have decapitated him if he had not held it! Our fielding was very good apart from a couple of rash throws. Patrick was safe behind the stumps and was unlucky not to take a catch 3 yards in front of the stumps which he just managed to get his finger tips to. Robin Das (brother of Jonathan), for Wanstead, scored over 50 NO being retired for the second time - he was outstanding.

We started our innings reasonably well with 9 off the first over, but after 4 overs we were well behind the run rate required. Rohan was bowled in the 5th over and 4 balls later Patrick was out LBW. Sanjana, Harry and Niall all contributed with the bat. Harry was unlucky to be caught off the wall by Robin, Sanjana hit several excellent shots before being bowled and Niall was similar. Viraj was retired on 25 and returned to make 42 before being bowled, going for a big hit on the second to last ball of the innings – by Robin. All out for 88.

We were beaten by a very strong, and better, team on the night but it was great experience. Well done to our whole team and a Man – of – the – Match award to Viraj
